We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineering professional with a proven track record. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects, mentor others and deliver high‑quality design solutions. Typically, this person will have around 4–7 years of consultancy experience and would be joining our technical team of 30 people, working within our Civils Team and based in our Cardiff office.
We work on a diverse range of projects across education, healthcare, residential, commercial and industrial sectors, with project values reaching £100m and beyond. We are well known locally for our work on projects such as Swansea Arena, Channel View, Llanhari High School, and the SRU development, alongside a growing portfolio of civils‑led commissions with new and emerging clients across Wales. We are also involved in a number of significant regeneration and masterplanning initiatives with local authorities throughout the region, contributing to the transformation of communities and infrastructure across South Wales.
The Civil Engineering team leads on infrastructure design, pre‑planning strategies, technical consents and supports development across highways, sustainable drainage, flood risk, earthworks and technical masterplanning, amongst other elements.
You will have experience of leading and managing multiple projects as well as leading on design from concept to construction. Your experience should include all or some to an advanced level of the design elements the Civil Engineering team delivers. We welcome applications from Chartered Engineers, as well as those on the pathway to Chartership who can demonstrate a clear commitment and plan for achieving it.
- Expertise in sustainable drainage design, including developing robust SuDS strategies, resolving challenges on constrained sites, and navigating SAB approval requirements.
- High proficiency with industry software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, drainage analysis packages, and the main Common Data Environments used across the sector.
- Contribution to team development through supporting the ongoing improvement of skills, standards, processes and best‑practice workflows within the Civil Engineering team.
- Strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to build positive working relationships with approving authorities and other key external partners.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, contractors and consultants to deliver a high‑quality, flexible and responsive service.
Above all the right fit will be guided by the individual, someone who recognises the contribution of others and shares their successes. Someone who is kind, conscientious and has pride in their work and the legacy our profession leaves for everyone.
