The Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Transport Planners to join our busy, growing teams in London, Bristol, Cardiff, and Manchester. We are well known for working on development projects in the UK and in Ireland across a range of sectors including residential, industrial, energy, healthcare, and education, in addition to masterplanning. The variety of our projects across various sectors ensure a varied mix of project work meaning no two days are the same. You will play a key role in the delivery of our projects working with other members of the Transport Planning team, and our colleagues in our Civils, Geo-Environmental, and Structures teams. The work will involve advising on site access and transport strategies, accessibility and sustainability, policy, and informing site layouts and designs working alongside planning consultants, architects, and other collaborators. You will also play a key part in the preparation of various planning related documents to support a successful planning application, including Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and transport chapters of Environmental Statements.

The Right Fit

  • Will be appropriately qualified and have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • You will be a motivated individual with strong communication skills.
  • Be able to lead on or support the preparation of planning reports including Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, transport chapters of Environmental Statements, and Delivery and Servicing Plans.
  • Experience of AutoCAD and Vehicle Tracking within Highways/Infrastructure design desirable.
  • Have similar career or work experience, ideally in a consultancy environment.
  • Knowledgeable of and comfortable navigating relevant transport planning policy and guidance.
  • Passionate about transport planning to support positive development in your community and have an attention to detail.

We’re looking for a motivated self-starter who’s eager to get involved — someone who will actively engage with our wider office teams, contribute to a collaborative working culture, and represent us at industry events. The ideal person will:

  • Hold a relevant degree (or equivalent) and be actively working towards a professional qualification.
  • Have 2-3 years’ experience as a Transport planner, ideally in a similar consultancy environment.
  • Be comfortable managing multiple tasks and projects, and contributing to project meetings.
  • Be commercially aware and have some understanding of project finances.
  • Have an appreciation of current Transport Planning policies, guidance, and key issues across the industry.
  • Experience of preliminary highway design and/or junction modelling software desirable.

Whilst ideal candidates will have experience in the field, we will also consider applications from recent Graduates with relevant work experience and/or a Masters’ degree (or equivalent) relevant to the Transport Planning industry.
