At Currys we’re united by one passion: to help everyone enjoy amazing technology. As the UK’s best-known retailer of tech, we’re proud of the service our customers receive – and it’s all down to our team of 25,000 caring and committed colleagues. Working as one team, we learn and grow together, celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.

You’ll join the Legal, Governance and Risk team under the Head of Corporate and Commercial Law, providing clear, practical legal advice that enables Currys to operate quickly while managing risk. The role covers a broad range of legal areas including commercial contracts, competition, IP, and regulatory matters. Working as trusted partners rather than gatekeepers, the team takes a collaborative approach where people support each other and own their work fully. You’ll collaborate across Currys with commercial, IT, procurement, and finance teams in the UK and Ireland, building strong relationships that are essential for effective legal advice. By engaging with project teams from the outset rather than at the end, you’ll ensure legal considerations are integrated throughout decision-making. You’ll also manage external counsel relationships and handle operational matters like supplier setup and invoice processing.

Role overview:

  • Lead commercial contract work from review and drafting through to negotiation, owning projects end-to-end and driving them to successful completion.
  • Play a key role in our negotiating team, providing strategic advice on complex deals while identifying and managing legal risks.
  • Support senior lawyers on high-complexity matters, spotting critical issues early and helping resolve them efficiently.
  • Advise across multiple legal disciplines including competition law, intellectual property, data protection, and dispute resolution.
  • Embed legal thinking into business projects from day one, working closely with cross-functional teams across commercial, IT, procurement and finance.
  • Build trusted partnerships with key stakeholders, becoming a go-to advisor rather than just a sign-off function.
  • Collaborate with external counsel, ensuring Currys engages the right expertise for the right matters.
  • Stay ahead of legal change, anticipate implications for the business, and keep the team informed of developments that matter.

You will need:

  • Proven commercial contract expertise with the confidence and experience to lead independently on complex matters.
  • Strong project management skills, able to juggle multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining quality and hitting deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator who builds credibility and trust across all levels of the organisation.
  • Collaborative team player who takes ownership of your own work while actively supporting colleagues.
  • Genuine curiosity about the business and a real commitment to helping Currys succeed.
  • Qualified solicitor with solid experience on commercial contracts, either in-house or in law firm practice.

We know our people are the secret to our success. That’s why we’re always looking for ways to reward great work. You’ll find a host of benefits designed to work for you, including:

  • Holiday benefits - 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holiday entitlement).
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Life Assurance.
  • Access to discretionary bonus.
  • Hybrid working; our primary Currys Campus is at Waterloo (WeWork).

Join our team and we'll be with you every step of the way, helping you develop the career you want with new opportunities, on-going training and skills for life. Not only can you shape your own future, but you can help take charge of ours too. As the biggest recycler and repairer of tech in the UK, we’re in a position to make a real impact on people and the planet. Every voice has a space at our table and we're committed to making inclusion and diversity part of everything we do, including how we strengthen our workforce. We want to make sure you have a fair opportunity to show us your talents during our application process, so if you need any additional assistance with your application please email careers@currys.co.uk and we'll do our best to help.
