Join us as Sustainability Operations Manager and you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering our sustainability ambitions across Supply Chain, Home Delivery and Logistics. As the UK’s number one retailer for collecting and recycling electrical waste, sustainability is central to who we are and this role sits right at the heart of that commitment. You’ll work across our Customer Service Centres (CSCs) and with key partners to ensure environmental best practice is embedded into day‑to‑day operations, helping Currys reduce environmental impact while creating real commercial value.
Responsibilities
- Building strong relationships with CSCs to embed sustainability best practice, compliance and operational excellence
- Leading the commercial and operational relationship with DHL and recycling partners, including driving revenue from raw material sales and evidence value
- Monitoring, analysing and reporting sustainability performance, progress against targets and regulatory requirements
- Owning environmental audit activity across CSCs and retail stores, acting as the escalation point for issues and corrective action
- Taking ownership of recycling elements of ISO standards, including responsibility for Newark
- Overseeing waste and recycling streams across the UK & ROI, including batteries, WEEE (small and large), TVs, hazardous and confidential waste, and packaging
- Coaching and influencing operational teams to build a strong culture of sustainability accountability
- Developing and implementing initiatives that reduce environmental impact and improve operational efficiency
- Playing a visible role in key projects that deliver Currys’ wider sustainability strategy
You’ll combine a passion for sustainability with strong operational credibility, able to move easily between strategic thinking and hands‑on delivery. You’ll influence without authority, bring people with you, and ensure sustainability is experienced as a value‑adding part of how we operate.
