The role translates Credit Strategy into executable delivery, ensuring innovative capabilities, regulatory compliance, and commercial value are embedded across all change. The role partners closely with internal delivery teams, senior leadership, and external lending partners. It requires strong leadership across a complex matrix, influencing without direct authority, and orchestrating multiple workstreams to deliver high-quality outcomes for customers and the business. A key part of the role is providing strategic oversight across the programme portfolio, ensuring effective governance, clear prioritisation and the conditions for successful delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Credit Transformation in delivering the end-to-end Credit transformation roadmap.
  • Provide strategic and commercial oversight for Credit initiatives while ensuring alignment to regulatory requirements.
  • Lead delivery across multiple transformation workstreams, ensuring clear milestones, RAID management, governance adherence, and strong cross-functional coordination.
  • Act as SME and escalation point for the portfolio, ensuring issues are resolved rapidly to protect delivery timelines and scope.
  • Liaise effectively across the matrix to align business requirements, technical feasibility, and strategic intent.
  • Ensure new proposals are assessed efficiently, providing direction on delivery approach, solution design, and prioritisation.
  • Champion outstanding customer experience, ensuring solutions drive both commercial value and service improvements.
  • Support regulatory activity including reporting, evaluation, and any required oversight engagement.
  • Maintain and strengthen the strategic partnership with the lending partner and all third-party suppliers.
  • Manage the transformation 'front door'—ensuring demand is shaped, triaged, and aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, high-performance environment across all transformation activities.
  • Support business case development and benefits tracking to secure and demonstrate ongoing investment in Credit.

Qualifications

  • Strong background operating within joint-venture or partner-driven models, ideally in financial services.

  • Strong track record in project management and product management, delivering complex multi-workstream programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risks, controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills across internal functions and external partners.
  • Experience managing change at scale within matrixed organisations.
  • Ability to simplify complex problems, identify dependencies quickly, and drive alignment.
  • Experience with scaled agile or hybrid delivery models, working closely with technology teams.
