You will be supporting the business by providing expert insight into search performance, customer demand, and visibility quality across traditional search and AI-led discovery experiences. The role focuses on diagnosing why search performance changes, how customer demand is evolving, and what this means commercially for categories, journeys, and buying decisions. Additionally, you will work closely with an external SEO agency, reviewing, interpreting, and prioritising technical recommendations, ensuring they are aligned to business priorities and ROI.
Role overview- Agency Governance, Technical Feasibility and Commercial Impact
- Act as a strategic gatekeeper on agency recommendations, validating feasibility, commercial impact, and alignment before prioritisation and sign-off.
- Translate technical and structural recommendations into clear customer and commercial terms to support rigorous prioritisation and roadmap planning.
- Assess how effectively products are represented across SERPs and AI-led experiences.
- Ensure SEO and GEO principles are consistently considered across platform, content, and initiative changes.
- Search Performance, Demand & Opportunity Insight
- Proactively diagnose search performance changes across SEO and GEO.
- Connect the dots between demand trends, intent shifts, and - when relevant - technical changes, to explain the whole picture.
- Translate performance signals into commercial insight that informs planning and buying decisions.
- Monitor the competitive landscape in traditional and AI-led search, to identify where our technical program may need to evolve to support the Content Strategy.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Be a clear point of contact for search performance insight across the business.
- Synthesise complex search, demand, and technical insight into plain, decision-ready narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- Support trading, product, and commercial team decision-making through search demand evidence and narrative.
- Agency Governance, Technical Feasibility and Commercial Impact
- Strong understanding of technical SEO fundamentals, with experience reviewing, sense checking and challenging recommendations before implementation.
- Understanding of how AI-driven and generative search experiences differ from traditional SEO.
- Search Performance, Demand and Commercial Insight
- Proven experience analysing commercial performance to explain what’s changed, why it matters and the commercial impact.
- Strong ability to interpret demand signals, intent shifts and visibility trends across categories and customer journeys.
- Experience translating complex performance insight into a commercially relevant narrative that informs planning and buying decisions.
- Strong communicator, comfortable working with various cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in an evolving search and AI-led landscape, where best practices, priorities and areas of focus change frequently, requiring ongoing learning and adaptation.
