Role overview
Position: First Line Manager
Location: Milton Keynes – Unit A, The Place Retail Park, Elder Gate, MK9 1EN.
Employment type: Permanent, full time. Salary: £36,850 per annum. Hours: 39 per week, 6:45 am – 4:00 pm, Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the running of the site, staffing and other resources.
- Motivate a team of delivery drivers to meet targets.
- Provide regular, consistent performance feedback.
- Influence operational decisions.
- Collaborate with internal and external departments to ensure a smooth operation.
- Support cross‑functional work area teams as required.
- Create a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety policies.
- Deliver coaching that prioritises performance improvement for the team, the business, and yourself.
Skills and experience
- Proven recent experience of leading teams, applying a range of leadership styles, techniques and coaching methods.
- Track record of developing teams to achieve customer‑focused results.
- Strong organisational skills to implement team and operational plans, prioritise workloads, and translate goals into actionable outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with different departments and clearly convey expectations and quality standards.
- Ideally, experience working in a logistics or transport environment.
