The Senior Technical Product Manager is responsible for defining, shaping and delivering iD Mobile’s BI and Data Engineering capability, acting as the strategic and technical bridge between business stakeholder community and data engineering functions. The purpose of the role is to drive a data‑led culture by developing high‑value BI products, enabling market‑driven insight and ensuring the business can make faster, smarter, and more commercially grounded decisions. The role owns the BI product roadmap, ensures alignment with enterprise data strategy and champions the adoption of modern data platforms including Databricks, OMNI, and associated tooling.
As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Strategic Leadership & Product Ownership: Own and evolve the BI product strategy, and roadmap in line with iD Mobile and Currys Group objectives. Translate business goals into clear BI product outcomes, ensuring measurable value delivery. Lead prioritisation across competing demands, balancing strategic initiatives with operational needs.
- Technical Delivery & Platform Development: Oversee the design, development, and enhancement of BI products, data models, dashboards, and analytical capabilities. Ensure effective use of Databricks, OMNI, and other enterprise data platforms to maximise performance, scalability, and data quality.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Cross ‑ Functional Collaboration: Facilitate alignment across commercial, digital, operations, finance, and technology teams to ensure BI products meet business needs. Communicate product progress, risks, and insights to senior leadership in a clear, structured manner.
- Governance, Quality & Continuous Improvement: Champion data governance, security, and compliance standards across BI products. Drive continuous improvement in BI processes, tooling, and delivery methodologies.
- Insight Enablement & Decision Support: Enable the business to leverage data for market‑led insight, forecasting, and performance optimisation. Identify emerging BI trends and technologies that can enhance capability and competitive advantage.
You will need:
- Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, BI Product Owner, Data Product Manager, or similar senior role.
- Understanding of modern data platforms, data engineering principles and analytics tooling.
- Technical grounding with confidence to engage in architecture and API design discussions with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally and manage delivery across internal and external partners. Capable of influencing senior stakeholders and technical teams & building strong relationships.
- Strong prioritisation, roadmap management, and product lifecycle experience in an agile / hybrid delivery environment.
- Deep understanding of BI, analytics, and data‑driven decision making in a commercial environment.
- Ability to identify opportunities for insight, automation and optimisation.
- Skilled at presenting complex information in a clear, concise, and compelling way.
- Industry sector expertise is desirable: Mobile/Telco, Technology, B2C, Customer Service, Retail, E-Commerce.
- Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject.
- Product management certifications (CSPO).
- Agile project management certifications (SSM).
- An MBA or business qualification is desirable.
