Overview
The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for supporting the PMO services across the Currys Transformation Portfolio (consisting of projects and programmes). They will support the Lead Portfolio Manager, Head of Portfolio, Strategic Change & Portfolio Director and Heads of Delivery to improve governance controls and processes across the Portfolio enabling successful delivery of Projects and Programmes to the desired budget, quality, and on time.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the single source of truth across the portfolio using Planview, ensuring accurate and timely data to drive informed management decisions via consolidated reports, KPIs & dashboards.
- Provide overall Planview administration and support, including user management, data quality assurance, workflow configuration, and ongoing optimisation to enable PMO and delivery teams.
- Produce and maintain core reporting requirements across the portfolio for all key meetings and stakeholders, specifically leveraging Power BI to pull data from Planview and design/maintain dashboards tailored for Group Leadership Team, ExCo, and other business-wide audiences.
- Manage and drive data quality across the RAID management process, ensuring appropriate escalations and consolidating common themes using Planview as the system of record.
- Manage the Portfolio Roadmap and Plan, managing milestones, dependencies and change.
- Manage the overall Resource management process with Tech and work with resource managers to ensure resource demand vs capacity analysis and insight.
- Ensure robust Change Control across the portfolio, ensuring upcoming changes are impacted and assessed appropriately against the Portfolio Plan, focused on the Critical Path.
- Directly support material preparation and scheduling for fortnightly Currys Change Board (Project funding) and bi-weekly InvestCo (BaU funding).
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across processes, creating efficiencies and best practices through coaching, training and development.
- Support the Lead Portfolio Manager in preparation and facilitation of all critical portfolio governance.
- Deliver ad-hoc reporting, control and portfolio management requests from Lead Portfolio Manager or Head of Portfolio as required.
- Support yearly delivery prioritisation and budgeting cycles, using Planview for scenario modelling and Power BI for data visualisation.
- Provide Portfolio support to Heads of Delivery as required.
- Undertake delivery assurance reviews with delivery and project managers as required.
Skills
- Excellent ability to influence people at all levels across the organisation and outside, including negotiating and successfully facilitating joint decision making.
- Ability to present effectively to senior management and communicate, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation.
- Strong analytical skills, able to identify highly complex critical issues and constructively challenge colleagues to improve programme delivery overall.
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Planview, including system administration, reporting, and process optimisation.
- Expertise in Power BI for data extraction from Planview, report development, dashboard creation, and business intelligence (including GLT and ExCo-level reporting).
- Exceptional organisation, prioritisation, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Resource management experience including demand vs capacity planning, analysis, and recommendations.
- A positive, can-do attitude and proven ability to deliver cost effective solutions when met with difficult and challenging project impacting risks and issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages (Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel).
- Can think on feet and learn quickly.
