We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our Home Audio Squad. We are looking for you if you are creative, dynamic and have a passion for retail buying. Working within one of our Commercial Category Squads means working in a tight knitted team. You will develop and implement the category plan to deliver the sales, margin and stock budgets. You’ll be working cross functionally within the Home Audio squad to develop and deliver the right ranges and promotional strategy for our customers, being obsessive to improve the customer shopping experience at every opportunity to help continue to grow our leading market share position. The department is fast paced and dynamic, and a great balance between sourcing and engaging with world leading brands. Reporting into a Senior Buyer, you will also work closely with admin support creating an inclusive environment for the team to excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish credible relationships with our global brands to ensure the best range, costs, supply and delivery for our customers
  • Ensure that the category is always striving for a market leading range
  • Work collaboratively with the merchandising team to ensure all metrics are hit across sales and stock
  • Work cross functionally with the GTM team to develop innovative marketing plans to secure supplier investment to educate our customers about amazing tech
  • Contribute to projects within the Commercial team and the wider Currys Group

You will have:

  • Experience at Buyer level or be an established Junior Buyer, with knowledge and experience of supplier negotiations and supplier relationship management
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs
  • Good numerical and analytical skills. Capable of monitoring market changes, competitor prices and products, and past sales patterns to forecast demand
  • Strong decision-making skills to enable the right actions for the category
  • Strong negotiation skills are essential, you will need to be extremely organised to manage the complexities of large box logistics
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting within senior forums
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint
