We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Manufacturing Shop Labourer to maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety within our machine shop. This role is primarily responsible for housekeeping duties, supporting machinists by keeping work areas tidy, and ensuring the workshop remains a clean, safe and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the shopfloor
- Sweep, and clean floors, walkways, and work areas
- Collect and dispose of metal swarf, scrap, and waste materials safely
- Clean machines, benches, and surrounding areas in accordance with procedures
- Organise tools, equipment, and storage areas
- Assist with basic material handling and moving parts as required
- Ensure bins, scrap skips, and recycling areas are managed properly
- Identify and report safety hazards, spills, or equipment issues
- Follow all health, safety, and PPE requirements
- Support Supervisors and Team Leaders with general workshop tasks as needed
Skills & Experience
- Previous factory, workshop, or cleaning experience preferred but not essential
- Forklift licence preferred but not essential
- Ability to perform physical work including standing, bending, and lifting
- Strong awareness of cleanliness, organisation, and safety
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
- Reliable, punctual, and conscientious
Working Pattern
Full Time (38 hours p/w) with flexible start/finish times
