We're looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead and develop teams within our Assembly and Paint operations, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of our manufacturing schedule. This role is essential to improving the efficiency of our manufacturing processes, supporting our evolving organisational structure, and advancing our ongoing turnaround plan.

In this new Supervisor role, you will take responsibility for overseeing the processes being transferred to our newly acquired unit, driving productivity, quality and On Time In Full (OTIF) performance, while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and teamwork. Working closely with Team Leaders, Operators and the wider business, you will play a key role in removing waste, improving operational performance, developing employee capability and ensuring high standards of safety, quality and customer service are consistently achieved.

Main Purpose of Role
  • Deliver the manufacturing schedule safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
  • Lead and develop Team Leaders and Operators to improve productivity, quality, OTIF performance and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reducing waste, increasing spindle utilisation and identifying opportunities to optimise processes, equipment, training and workplace layout.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, accurately record operational activity and effectively communicate relevant information across the business.
  • Collaborate with other departments and Supervisors to ensure the smooth flow of work and timely delivery of products throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate and develop Team Leaders and Operators through regular communication, coaching, performance management and training.
  • Create a positive, accountable and high-performing culture that promotes teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, training and participation in H&S initiatives.
  • Oversee Assembly, Paint and associated manufacturing processes, providing hands-on support where required while maintaining effective supervision of the team.
  • Ensure tools, materials, drawings, fixtures, data packs and other resources are available to support uninterrupted workflow and efficient movement of products between work centres.
  • Maintain awareness of machinery and facility capabilities, supporting planned maintenance activities and ensuring equipment is appropriately maintained.
  • Assist with the introduction, commissioning and optimisation of new equipment, software and manufacturing processes.
  • Work with Engineering, Continuous Improvement and Production teams to identify and implement improvements to manufacturing methods, efficiency and resource utilisation.
  • Support employee development through coaching, mentoring and recommending appropriate training opportunities.
  • Take ownership of employee performance, attendance, conduct, probation reviews and development, addressing concerns promptly and in line with company procedures.
  • Support investigations, disciplinary, grievance and absence management processes, seeking HR guidance where appropriate.
  • Monitor operational performance against agreed targets and KPIs, providing regular updates and reports to the Operational Delivery Manager.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions and other business activities as required.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Experience supervising or leading teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally including assembly and paint operations.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop employees.
  • Good problem-solving skills, with experience of continuous improvement activities.
  • Proactive approach to Health & Safety and promoting safe working practices.
  • Experience working within a quality-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
Desirable Experience
  • Aerospace or defence manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC/SQC).
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
  • Understanding of inspection and measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Understanding of aerospace/defence assembly processes.
  • Understanding of aerospace/defence painting and treatment processes.

  • Comply with the Company's Health & Safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work.

  • Follow site rules and emergency procedures at all times.
  • Actively participate in Health & Safety reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working Pattern

Full Time (38 hours p/w) with flexible start/finish times.
