Position Overview

Currock Engineering is looking for an organised and enthusiastic HR Intern to support our department digitalisation and through a busy period.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a career in Human Resources to gain practical workplace experience within a busy manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will primarily support the HR Manager and Financial Controller with a project to digitise employee personnel records, helping us transition from paper files to secure electronic records.

Alongside this project, there will be opportunities to assist with a range of day-to-day HR administrative activities and gain an understanding of how a busy HR function operates.

Subject to business needs and confidentiality requirements, there may also be opportunities to observe wider HR activities to support your learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the HR Manager and Financial Controller with the digitisation of employee personnel files and other business records.
  • Scan, upload and accurately reference documents within electronic personnel records using agreed file naming conventions.
  • Organise and maintain digital files in a consistent, logical structure to ensure documents can be located quickly and easily.
  • Identify and report any missing, incomplete or illegible documentation to the HR Manager or Financial Controller.
  • Prepare physical documents for confidential shredding in accordance with Company procedures and only after appropriate authorisation has been obtained.
  • Handle all employee records and confidential information securely, maintaining confidentiality.
  • HR Administration
  • Assist with recruitment administration, including arranging interviews, liaising with candidates and following up with managers for feedback.
  • Produce routine HR correspondence using approved templates, such as probation confirmations, job changes, employment contracts.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of policies and procedures.
  • Update HR systems, spreadsheets and trackers.
  • Monitor probation review dates and training records.
  • Assist with filing and document management.
  • Provide general administrative support across a range of HR activities.
  • Carry out other reasonable administrative duties appropriate to the role as requested by the HR Manager.

  • Full Time (38 hours p/w) with flexible start/finish times
