Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm (30 mins lunch break) and 1 in 3 Saturday 8am to 1pm (on a rota basis and paid in addition). We are looking for an experienced MOT tester / Vehicle technician to join our automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out approved MOT vehicle inspections, rectifying faults, and preparing vehicle inspection reports. During quieter periods, there will also be opportunities to undertake servicing, maintenance, and repair work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Class 4 MOT tests and issue MOT certificates in accordance with DVSA regulations and guidelines.
- Identify vehicle defects and provide accurate recommendations for repairs and maintenance.
- Complete all MOT documentation and inspection records accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all DVSA testing standards and company procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of workshop housekeeping and health and safety practices.
- Keep up to date with changes in MOT legislation, vehicle technology, and industry best practice.
- Assist with vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair work as required.
- Deliver excellent customer service and work collaboratively with colleagues across the business.
Qualifications
- Valid MOT Tester Class 4 licence.
- Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification (or equivalent).
- Proven experience carrying out MOT inspections and vehicle servicing.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
