We are looking for an experienced and proactive Transport Planner to join our busy groupage distribution operation based at our Warrington depot.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a fast-paced transport business where no two days are the same.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our daily transport operation runs efficiently, delivering exceptional service to our customers while managing costs and maximising vehicle utilisation.

As our Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily transport operations, working closely with subcontractors, warehouse staff, customers and the pallet network to ensure freight is delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
Key
Responsibilities: Planning efficient daily routes for subcontracted drivers.
Booking deliveries with customers and delivery points.
Liaising with subcontractors and monitoring performance to maintain high service standards.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontracted drivers and transport providers.
Managing transport costs while maximising revenue and vehicle utilisation.
Monitoring deliveries and collections, proactively resolving any issues.
Uploading and managing Proofs of Delivery (PODs).
Coordinating freight movements through the pallet network.
Selecting the most cost-effective and efficient delivery and collection methods.
Working closely with the warehouse team to ensure freight is loaded, scanned and dispatched correctly.
Supporting warehouse administration and ensuring transport documentation is completed accurately.
Maintaining clear communication with customers, drivers, subcontractors and colleagues throughout the day.
We're looking for someone who has: Previous experience in transport planning within general haulage, pallet network or groupage distribution.
A strong understanding of UK distribution and pallet network operations.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
The ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a busy environment.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Commercial awareness with the ability to manage transport costs effectively.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Good IT skills, including experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS).
What we offer: Monday to Friday working 8:00am to 5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch break. 21 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
