Currie & Brown is currently looking for a senior project planner - Aviation role based out of our London infrastructure team. The successful candidate will support project leaders in generating a high standard of project planning service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our client, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred consultant and service provider. The successful candidate will be a key contributor in the project management team assisting in the successful implementation and delivery of large and complex projects.
The role As a Planner with our growing business, you’ll:
- Lead, coach and inspire a team to shape the next generation of planners
- Look at construction projects from every angle to decide the safest and best possible way to deliver them
- Win everyone’s confidence and get them on board to follow your plan – including supply chains and subcontractors
- Manage programmes of work to make sure we do what we say we’ll do in the right way at the right time to the right cost
- Have a strong handle on every project by reporting on productivity, mapping predicted progress and getting out on site to ensure our progress data’s accurate
- Make informed decisions on how best to proceed if any changes are needed
- Be part of a powerful planning community who lean on and learn from each other
- Collaborate across the teams to define plans, update on progress and increase the impact that planning can make on safety and quality
- Get the chance to mentor our Planners and reverse mentor our leaders.
Who we’re looking for To join us and lead a planning team, you’ll need to:
- Have significant experience of planning services – ideally within construction
- Know how to use planning techniques and planning toolsets
- Understand tender documents, contracts and specifications
- Understand various methods of planning, programming and progress monitoring
- Want to work with people – we’re about teamwork, not siloes
- Develop relationships, trust and confidence to get every team to do what’s needed
- Be unflappable as situations change, plans evolve and decisions need making.
Qualifications and Experience Educated to Degree/Post Grad level or equivalent in construction or business related field. Experience (typically associated with five years’ experience) as a planner on projects with a value typically in excess of £20m. Significant experience with Primavera software (P6) and MS Excel. Experience in planning infrastructure projects in a live operational environment desirable. Experience in performing quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis and computer operations. Understanding of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction and start up work processes. Understanding of mathematical and financial reports. Understanding of NEC types of contract.
