Currie & Brown is looking for a senior quantity surveyor for our established and growing Dublin team to work on a wide variety of Data Centre sector projects. The successful candidate will support project leaders in generating a high standard of day-to-day service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider. Currie & Brown is committed to career development and expects the successful candidate to rapidly progress to senior level and beyond, managing all aspects of their own commissions. This role can be based anywhere in the UK, supporting the Dublin team, with travel to Dublin when required. Your core duties will involve: Preparing capital cost estimates Assisting in tendering procedures and contract arrangements Prepare pricing documents for tender packages. Providing advice on tendering procedures Draft instructions to tenderers Development of tender evaluation criteria Drafting of PQQ questionnaires Handling queries during tender period Commercial evaluation of all tender submissions Negotiation with tenderers Perform all aspects of procurement, including managing the pre-qualification stage, produce bid list, bid analysis, produce bid report, and compile contractual documents. Valuing progress on site for interim certificates Valuing proposed instructions Validating contractors’ final account Produce monthly post contract cost reports and present to client. Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts. Provide leadership to junior members of cost management team, when necessary, ensure the delivery on all of accountabilities. Identify improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, and refer ideas to appropriate line manager. What skills and attributes are we looking for from you Strong experience dealing with M&E systems across high tech, pharma or DC projects or experience with healthcare / public works contracts Experience managing estimating and cost planning activities, including ownership and presentation of the final cost plan for projects throughout the design phase and delivering updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones. Ability to conduct reviews of GMP contracts with general contractors. Experience with negotiations with mechanical & electrical subcontractors on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices. Ability to lead commercial meetings. Experience in 2D and BIM take off for mechanical and electrical systems critical to Data Centre construction. Experience in reviewing and compiling as-built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes. Ability to act as part of a team of MEP cost managers, with a team focus on development and growth. Firm grasp on quality assurance & quality control. Second European Language considered an added benefit. Why choose Currie & Brown?
