Are you looking to develop your cost management career with a global consultancy? Would you like to work on exciting projects while receiving support towards professional qualifications and career progression? We’re looking for an Assistant Cost Manager to join our team. You'll work alongside experienced cost managers and project leaders, helping to deliver high-quality services to our clients while building your technical and commercial knowledge.
What you'll be doing
- Support the preparation of cost plans, estimates and reports
- Assist with cost management and financial control throughout the project lifecycle
- Help prepare tender documentation and contract information
- Help project leaders in delivering successful projects
- Attend client, contractor and project meetings
- Assist in the preparation of valuations and cost reporting
- Help monitor project budgets and expenditure
- Assist with procurement and tender evaluation activities
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers
- Learn and apply industry best practice and company procedures
- Contribute to the successful delivery of projects across a range of sectors
What we’re looking for
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or are working towards completing one
- Some experience in a quantity surveying or cost management role, either through work placements or employment
- An interest in pursuing professional membership with RICS
- Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- A willingness to learn new systems and technologies, including CostX and other cost management software
- Good report writing and organisational skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
