Over recent months Currie & Brown has been successful in expanding our portfolio of infrastructure delivery commissions by securing a number of valuable and prestigious engagements, and we are currently looking to make contact with experienced enthusiastic professionals to join our infrastructure team.
Currie & Brown requires a capable and experienced estimators with Rail and Aviation experience The successful candidate's commercial skills will support the current team structure in order to meet the volume of workload, supplement current expertise and deliver consistent cost planning and estimating service activity.
Responsibilities will include: Producing accurate cost estimates reflecting the project scope and timescales, to a consistent format and qualityEnabling project costs and performance to be more reliably compared and benchmarkedAccurately validating suppliers' and contractors' cost estimatesProviding efficient tools and processes that enable timely and consistent production of estimates to a common standardProducing estimate reportsPreparing cost estimates during the execution phase to validate contractors' cost forecasts and contract changesProviding specialist cost planning and estimating services in accordance with our rail clients' governance and assurance procedures; this may require the estimate report and estimate to be presented to the client as part of the governance sign-off processSupporting budget development, investment authorisation and cost reconciliationRequirements: BSc in quantity surveying or equivalentMembership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalentTechnical delivery experience in the provision of estimating and/or QS servicesExtensive rail, highways or utilities sector experiencePre-contract experienceUnderstanding of project management, planning, risk and investment processesWorking knowledge of cost planning techniques for the financial control of projects during design development stagesProficient in the use of unit cost modelling toolsGood technical writing, client-facing and communication skillsWell-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astuteA team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexibleCurrie & Brown is one of the world's leading physical assets management and construction consultancies, dedicated to advising clients in respect of the management and utilisation of their physical assets, and is differentiated by innovation, expertise and experience.
