Currie & Brown is currently looking for a Group Head of Financial Reporting. You will operate as part of the Group Finance team with specific responsibilities for External Financial reporting of the UK based entities and reporting to our Middle Eastern parent company. The role will also expand to include co‐ordination of internal management reporting, budgeting and forecasting. The position reports to the Group Finance Director and is based in Leeds, UK.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of Consolidated financial statements prepared on an IFRS basis, consolidation of the financial results for statutory reporting.
- Financial statements of centrally controlled entities, including accounts for companies in the UK and Jersey.
- Quality review of overseas subsidiary Financial Statements.
- Continuous review and documentation of group accounting policies and practices.
- Coordination of Group audit and primary contact with External Auditors to ensure smooth delivery of audited financial statements in accordance with the Group timetable.
- Oversight of monthly and weekly cashflow reporting and forecasting processes.
- Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly management reporting submissions to our Middle Eastern parent, largely through the use of OneStream software.
- Liaise with Group finance teams (Americas, UK & Europe, Middle East, India and Asia Pacific) to ensure accurate and timely delivery of relevant financial information.
- Review of locally produced financial statements to ensure quality.
- Training of the wider finance team to ensure that they are kept abreast of all changes in IFRS.
- Working with the wider finance team and IT team to improve the quality, timeliness and efficiency of financial and management reporting.
- Supporting the Group Finance Director with Due Diligence and M&A activity as required.
- Contributing to the work of the wider Group finance team as required.
Requirements
- Recognised Professional Accounting Qualification with a minimum 2 years PQE in either a senior practice role or business accounting role.
- Experience of group reporting and auditing including overseas subsidiaries.
- Good knowledge of IFRS accounting standards including consolidation and accounting for long term service contracts.
- The ability to review and understand financial systems and processes with a view to continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in delivering/working in a group audit scenario.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and a professional manner.
- A team player with a 'can‐do' attitude who is well‐organised, diligent, proactive and enthusiastic about improvement.
- Good knowledge of IFRS.
