Your core duties will involve:

  • Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to our clients
  • Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments
  • Leading commercial management services with limited supervision
  • Driving value engineering and value management initiatives
  • Assuming a leading role within the team and fostering a collaborative, innovative environment where talent can thrive
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects
  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Liaising with other managers to ensure good resource allocation and efficient financial control
  • Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in cost management of projects
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships

What skills and attributes are we looking for from you:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
  • Awareness of sustainability requirements, the need for carbon reduction, carbon assessments and option studies
  • Data Skills including preparing cost analyses, benchmarking and dashboard and smart reporting
  • Public/private sector experience – ideally experience gained from some of the following: new build, cut & carve, refurbishment and fit out - offices, healthcare, residential, hospitality, major projects, government and leisure & retail
  • Pre and post-contract experience
  • Proficient CostX or other Cost Planning software
  • Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
  • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  • A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
