Associate Director, Healthcare Advisory Services

The role – what is it we would like you to do?

Currie & Brown is currently looking for an Associate Director for our Healthcare Advisory Services business, covering primarily London and the South East but also other parts of the UK.

We are looking for candidates who can help continue the growth and success of our healthcare advisory services team. Successful candidates can expect to be directly involved in:

  1. Leading PMO/programme management services for healthcare clients, coordinating a number of clinical, design and estates workstreams and teams to support the development of business cases and programmes during pre-construction stages of capital programmes.
  2. Developing and applying programme management structures, processes and procedures and tools within a healthcare estate setting.
  3. Supporting the NHS in securing investment for major infrastructure and transformation programmes by working in partnership with the NHS and advisory teams to ensure business case deliverables are produced on time and to the quality required.
  4. Providing strategic advice with experience of providing consultancy services to NHS clients.
  5. Experience of or exposure to developing NHS business cases is essential; knowledge of the healthcare landscape and government’s New Hospital Programme is desirable.
  6. Working as part of a team to lead and project manage a diverse range of projects and programmes for the NHS and healthcare clients.
  7. Building and maintaining client relationships and actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  8. Managing junior team members, supporting them to provide a holistic service offering to the client and to develop their careers.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of providing PM/PMO and consultancy services on NHS capital schemes.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and within multi-disciplinary teams, building strong relationships and communicating effectively; winning the confidence of the client team to secure repeat business.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to establish and implement project plans, governance structures and associated procedures and tools.
  • Manage and coordinate input from healthcare clients and advisors to produce strategic documents such as business cases and estate strategies.
  • Stakeholder management with experience and understanding of how to manage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality documentation and presentations with the ability to apply skills to present to senior management, ideally with knowledge of developing NHS or public sector business cases.
  • An understanding that significant capital investments represent major business change; ideally experience of change programmes in healthcare infrastructure, service transformation or related fields.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage a portfolio of work.
  • Maintain sector-specific knowledge, particularly with regards to the healthcare sector and plans for capital investment.
  • Ability to confidently handle numbers in the preparation of reports and business cases, for example, in compiling an economic appraisal.
  • Ability to drive forwards projects and programmes, taking initiative and problem-solving with ambition to grow and develop knowledge and skills within the sector.
