Job Description

Currie & Brown is currently looking for a cost consultant and a senior cost consultant. The successful candidate will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing, and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider working across a range of projects such as large commercial new builds for blue chip clients, private residential, towers and national government frameworks etc.\\n\\nYour core duties will involve:\\n\\nProviding accurate cost advice and reporting to our clients\\nDelivering projects, commissions and professional assignments\\nAssuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player\\nMaintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control\\nUndertaking commercial management services with limited supervision\\nDelivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner\\nProviding support to the team leader/service leaders in cost management of projects\\nRepresenting the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationshipsWhat skills and attributes are we looking for from you:\\n\\nBSc in quantity surveying or equivalent\\nMembership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)\\nPrivate commercial sector experience – ideally experience gained from some of the following: offices, residential, hospitality, major projects, fit out and refurb\\nProficient CostX or other Cost Planning software\\nSustainability and Data Skills i.e. carbon assessment and Power BI\\nContract administration skills.\\nPre and post-contract experience\\nGood technical writing, client-facing and communication skillsWhat You’ll Get in Return:\\n\\nComprehensive benefits package, including private medical insurance and enhanced pension\\n25 days’ holiday (rising to 27 after 5 years), plus option to buy additional leave\\nFlexible and hybrid working arrangements\\n£400 annual healthy living subsidy\\nInterest-free season ticket loan\\nPaid professional subscriptions\\nClear progression routes and global career mobility\\nSupportive, inclusive working culture focused on your development
