Currie & Brown is currently looking for an Associate Cost Consultant to join our Haywards Heath team. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of core quantity surveying services working with our established team. The individual will be required to generate a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing, and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider working across a range of projects in both the public and private sector.

We are looking for a person who is passionate in developing not just the service, but also our junior members of staff acting as a mentor as well as taking on line management responsibilities. A track record of client account management is also desirable. The Haywards Heath quantity surveying team has a clear growth strategy which this role will be integral to help develop and be part of, leading to further opportunities of career progression.

Your core duties will involve:

  • Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to our clients
  • Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments
  • Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
  • Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision
  • Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in cost management of projects
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
  • Networking and business development
  • RICS APC support, mentorship and guidance

What skills and attributes are we looking for from you

  • BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
  • Private commercial sector experience – ideally experience gained from some of the following: datacentres, offices, residential, hospitality, major projects, fit out and refurbs
  • Proficient CostX or other Cost Planning software
  • Sustainability and Data Skills (Desirable)
