Currie & Brown is looking for an experienced Senior Principal Designer to join our Glasgow team, supporting a wide and varied portfolio of projects across Scotland's West Coast. This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in delivering high-quality Principal Designer and CDM advisory services across multiple sectors including demolition, new build, public realm, education, healthcare, logistics, and more. You'll work closely with clients and design teams, ensuring health & safety is embedded at every stage of the project lifecycle, from concept through to completion.
What You'll Be Doing
- Discharging the duties of Principal Designer in line with CDM Regulations 2015
- Advising clients on their duties and supporting them in achieving compliance
- Leading design risk management across all RIBA stages
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to identify, reduce, and mitigate hazard and risk
- Supporting and ensuring design teams apply the Principles of Prevention to drive safer design outcomes
- Producing and reviewing key CDM documentation, including Pre-construction information Reports, Construction Phase Plans, Risk Registers and Health & Safety Files
- Ensuring project teams and stakeholders are fulfilling their CDM responsibilities
- Delivering strategic, practical solutions to complex design and construction challenges
- Conducting CDM Site Audits and the provision of key findings reports

- Ability to confidently advise clients and influence design teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Relevant qualifications appropriate for a Senior Principal Designer
- Membership of a professional body (APS, IOSH)
