Shape lifelong alumni relationships and meaningful community impact at one of Australia’s leading universities. Play a key role connecting graduates across Australia and the world through purposeful engagement. Full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 12 months. Base salary range: $104,243 – $115,661 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) lead the University’s alumni, philanthropic and community engagement strategies. The team works collaboratively across the University to embed engagement and philanthropy into everyday operations, building enduring relationships that advance institutional goals and enrich the student and graduate experience.

About the opportunity

  • Design and deliver alumni engagement initiatives that connect graduates with Schools, students and special interest communities.
  • Identify and support volunteering, mentoring and advocacy opportunities by aligning alumni skills and interests with School priorities.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across academic, student, marketing and advancement teams to raise the profile of alumni and strengthen participation in university life.
  • Contribute to the delivery of global alumni engagement initiatives, strengthening connections with the international alumni community and supporting the University’s global alumni program.

About you

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and volunteers.
  • Demonstrated experience building lasting relationships and delivering high-quality client or stakeholder engagement.
  • Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, meet deadlines and report on outcomes.
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively across diverse communities, with a flexible approach to engaging with people in different regions and contexts.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and digital tools to support engagement, reporting and communications.

Note: Employment checks will include information on gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related misconduct to meet legal obligations. Some travel intrastate, interstate, and internationally may be required. Some after-hours and weekend work may be required.
