About the area

UWA is making significant investments in the Information and Technology Services to enable its strategic direction and goals. UWA is also looking to utilise technology advancements to expand its services and create new and innovative teaching and research models. The function of the Solutions Delivery unit is to plan, deliver and support enterprise technology solutions that enable teaching, learning, research and administrative excellence. It provides secure, reliable and accessible digital solutions and services to support innovation, collaboration and efficiency across the University.

About the opportunity

Lead and direct the strategic planning, development, and execution of the University’s digital identity strategy ensuring integration with institutional priorities and risk management frameworks. Establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies and controls for identity, access, privileges and entitlements to meet regulatory obligations, privacy requirements and internal risk and audit obligations. Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

About you

  • Postgraduate qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Business or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • IAM industry-recognised qualification (e.g. Identity Management Institute, IDPro or equivalent), or demonstrated equivalent expertise across identity lifecycle management, identity governance and administration, access management and privileged access management.
  • Extensive proven experience leading the strategy, design, implementation and lifecycle management of enterprise digital identity platforms, including IGA, AM, PAM, identity federation and single sign-on, and directory and identity data management in complex organisations.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant privacy, cyber security and digital identity regulations and standards, including Australian Privacy Principles, GDPR and internal risk and audit requirements.
  • Experience working in higher education or other highly regulated, complex enterprises with diverse user groups, applications and integration patterns.

Note: Employment checks will include information on gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related misconduct to meet legal obligations. A current National Police Clearance will be required by the successful applicant. Some after-hours work and occasional interstate travel may be required.
