Base salary range: Level C, $144,143 – $165,809 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

The Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA) is the state’s primary centre for oral health education, research and specialist care. Treating more than 15,000 patients annually, OHCWA delivers high‑quality clinical services while supporting undergraduate, postgraduate and specialist training programs.

About the opportunity

  • Lead and deliver high‑quality clinical and didactic teaching in Periodontics and Oral Implantology across undergraduate and postgraduate programs (including DMD and DCD), while contributing specialist clinical services through the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia.
  • Build and sustain a nationally recognised research profile in Periodontics through high‑quality publications, collaborative research initiatives and supervision of higher degree and coursework research students.
  • Provide academic leadership and service at School and University level, contributing to curriculum development, student supervision, professional engagement and the strategic direction of dental education and research at UWA.

About you

  • You will bring a strong academic and clinical profile, with the capability to lead, inspire and contribute at a senior level.
  • Registered with the Dental Board of Western Australia, with a recognised specialist qualification in Periodontics (or equivalent registrable qualification).
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development across undergraduate and postgraduate dental programs, including innovative assessment and learning approaches.
  • A strong national research track record, evidenced by publications in high‑quality peer‑reviewed journals and active research collaboration.
  • Experience supervising students and mentoring junior colleagues in academic or clinical settings.
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach, with the ability to contribute positively to School, University and external professional communities.
