Full-time appointment on an ongoing basis. Base salary range: $104,243 – $115,661 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Directorate of Student Life and Community sits within the Education and Student Experience Portfolio, overseen by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education and Student Experience). Student Life and Community play an integral role in the shared strategic goal of providing a world-class student experience. The Directorate comprises five core divisions: the Student Conduct and Resolution Centre, Student Engagement and Belonging, Student Equity and Accessibility, Student Health and Wellbeing, and UWA Sport. The Directorate delivers an integrated suite of services and initiatives across the student lifecycle, including programs and activities that promote access and participation at UWA, foster inclusion, belonging and community connection, support safety, health and wellbeing, advance equity and accessibility, encourage positive student conduct and early resolution pathways, and enhance engagement in learning, university life, and leadership. The Directorate works in close partnership with the student Guild, student associations, affiliated residential colleges, and the broader Education and Student Experience portfolio to ensure an integrated, student-centred approach aligned with UWA’s strategic priorities and values.

About the opportunity

Provide high-level executive, strategic and administrative support to the Director, Student Life and Community, contributing to initiatives that enhance the student experience across the University. Lead and coordinate complex projects, business functions and strategic priorities, including the preparation of executive briefings, reports, business cases and stakeholder communications. Work across a diverse portfolio spanning student engagement, equity, accessibility, wellbeing, conduct and community programs, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and substantial experience in executive support, administration, project coordination or a related professional role within a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, briefings, correspondence and other executive-level documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research issues, interpret information and develop practical, evidence-based recommendations.
  • A collaborative and proactive professional who is committed to service excellence, continuous improvement and contributing to a positive student experience.
