Work with unique cultural and research audio collections, contributing to their preservation and accessibility for future generations. Be part of a collaborative and innovative digitisation environment within a leading Group of Eight University. Part-time (0.6 FTE) appointment (ideally over 3 days) on a fixed term basis for 12 months. Base salary: $77,205 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The University Library supports the University’s teaching, learning and research mission by providing access to high-quality information resources, services and spaces. Within the Library, the Research and Collections section delivers services spanning resource acquisition and management, archives and records, research support, and digitisation. Records, Archives & Digitisation Services includes the Digitisation Centre of Western Australia, which partners with internal and external stakeholders to digitise cultural, historical and research collections. The team plays a key role in preserving valuable materials and enhancing access through high-quality digital outputs and adherence to best practice standards.
About the opportunity
Support the digitisation of diverse physical collections with a focus on audio materials by preparing, capturing and processing materials to established standards. Contribute to quality assurance, metadata practices and reporting to ensure the integrity and accessibility of digitised content. Maintain digitisation equipment and collaborate with team members and collection owners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
About you
- Demonstrated experience working with digitisation equipment, processes and digital file management.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
- Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to provide advice and work effectively with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant information and communication technologies.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, showing initiative and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
