We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to carry out a wide range of electrical installation, maintenance, and repair works across social housing, domestic properties, and commercial premises within the Berkshire and Hampshire area. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Carrying out the majority of work within the social housing sector, in a variety of property types including void and occupied properties.
- Completing electrical works to ensure properties are brought up to and maintained in line with required regulatory and quality standards.
- Undertake electrical installations, maintenance, testing, inspection, and repair works across domestic and commercial environments for other areas of the business.
- Carry out electrical inspections, testing, and certification in line with current regulations (e.g. BS 7671).
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely.
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance works.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current legislation, industry best practice and company policies.
- Accurately complete job records, reports, and certification in a timely manner.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines and service standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
- Proven experience working of a minimum of 2 years as an Electrician in primarily social housing, but also desired domestic, and/or commercial environment experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical regulations and best practices.
- Ability to fault-find and problem-solve effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation inc AM2.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection and Testing) - preferred.
- ECS/CSCS card (desirable).
- Minimum of 2 years industry experience.
- Proven experience in domestic electrical work, ideally within social or residential housing.
- Strong understanding of current electrical safety standards and building regulations.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious.
- Detail-oriented with a high standard of workmanship.
- Flexible and adaptable to different work environments.
- Forward thinking and planning of material requirement logistics for works scheduled.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
This role offers the opportunity to work across varied sectors, contributing to safe and well-maintained electrical systems for homes and businesses alike. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Relocation assistance to the UK is not provided for this position.
