Support Worker (Independent Living) - Supporting Independence, Building Futures

£24,730 per annum + £900 car allowance | Bath & NE Somerset | Full Time Permanent | 37 hours per week | Monday to Friday – no shift work

This Monday to Friday role gives you the chance to make a real difference without the challenges of shift patterns or personal care responsibilities. You will work with your own caseload of customers, helping them access the support they need to thrive in their own homes. At Curo, we believe everyone deserves the chance to live independently. Our Independent Living Service puts people at the heart of everything we do, providing tailored support that makes a real difference to lives across Bath and North East Somerset.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing your own caseload of customers, building trust and understanding their unique needs
  • Developing personalised support plans with customers to help them live independently
  • Working with partner agencies to coordinate the right support for each person
  • Helping customers across Bath and North East Somerset with task‑based support – practical things like shopping, attending appointments, and accessing services
  • Supporting customers to maximise their income and access benefits they’re entitled to
  • Completing annual personal alarm safety checks
  • Completing accurate case notes and documentation within required timeframes
  • Responding to emergency situations when needed

More about you

  • Experience in a customer-service or customer‑facing role
  • Strong listening skills and ability to understand what customers really need
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Comfort with challenging conversations while remaining respectful and supportive
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and mobile apps
  • Full driving licence with access to a car and business insurance
  • Ability to transport customers when required

You will travel throughout Bath and North East Somerset primarily, with occasional cover in Bristol and North Somerset. This role requires an enhanced DBS check, which we will arrange for you. Your empathy, resilience and genuine interest in helping people will be essential to your success in this role, along with an understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable adults.
