We are looking for a qualified multi-trade operative to join our Empty Homes team. Your expertise will directly improve how our housing stock across Bath, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. If you are a skilled tradesperson — whether from private construction or social housing — who wants stable, meaningful work with real variety, this could be perfect for you. You will use your qualifications and experience to complete high-quality repairs to our empty homes, solving real problems every day.
Responsibilities
- Working within a team of multi-skilled colleagues to prepare vacant (void) properties for re-let.
- Diagnosing building defects and carrying out a wide range of high-quality repairs, reinstatement works, and upgrades to ensure properties meet Curo’s lettable standards.
- Delivering efficient, safe, and cost-effective void turnaround while maintaining high quality and compliance.
- Carrying out full property refurbishment tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, wet trades, decorating, uPVC door and window repairs, ensuring all aspects of the home are ready for new tenants.
- Identifying and rectifying building defects, reporting any major works or specialist requirements to the Team Leader.
- Working efficiently to minimise void turnaround time while maintaining quality and safety.
- Ensuring all works comply with current legislation, policies, and health & safety requirements (including asbestos awareness).
- Accurately completing all job records, documentation, and electronic data in line with company procedures.
- Managing materials effectively, maintaining van stock and ensuring cost control on void works.
- Taking care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are used and stored appropriately.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and other teams to ensure smooth delivery of void programmes.

You are a qualified tradesperson who takes pride in doing quality work across multiple trades. You are comfortable working independently, making sound decisions on site.
Essential
- Formal trade qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3-4 or equivalent).
- Carpentry and plumbing skills - our core requirements for this role.
- Full UK driving licence for travelling between properties.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to work sensitively in residents' homes.
- Confidence using mobile devices.
Desirable
- Experience in plastering, decorating, glazing or metalwork.
- Background working with vulnerable customers or in social housing.
