What you'll be doing

The HR Advisor will be a key role within the newly formed HR & OD shared service team, providing visible, credible and professional standardised HR advice, support and services as required by Curo to agreed service levels.

The HR Advisor will provide a professional advisory service to a range of stakeholders across the organisation to enable effective day to day people and case management. This role will work flexibly across the organisation with a wide range of colleagues and provide support for HRBPs and line managers managing key HR processes and practices, coaching and advising line managers so they are skilled and confident to manage their teams and our colleagues have the best possible experience at Curo.

This role will be responsible for taking policies, employment legislation and external best practice into consideration when providing advice to ensure compliance and facilitate decision making. This role will identify opportunities to simplify and streamline practices, implementing improvements to the way we deliver HR and Organisation Development processes to deliver an improving service to the business, whilst delivering our purposeful culture strategy.

What will I have to do?

  • Give advice as a Shared Service
  • Provide consistent HR advice, guidance and support services to the business to the agreed service levels whilst delivering an excellent colleague experience
  • Provide a professional HR service across the business, continually seeking feedback and looking to improve the service offered
  • Ensure all HR workflows, procedures and tool kits are meeting the needs of the business, driving economies of scale and efficiency and an excellent colleague experience
  • Provide best practice, up to date HR advice and guidance across Curo
  • Understand Curo business needs and tailoring the HR priorities accordingly

Organisational Design & Talent

  • Support HRBPs with designing great jobs and structures through the creation of effective roles and teams and ensuring the Curo design principles are maintained
  • Work with HRBPs and the Talent Acquisition Manager where required to support recruitment activity

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Advise and support on employee engagement initiatives, including supporting the management of external surveys with colleagues within our customers areas
  • Contribute to inclusion and belonging activities, ensuring all colleagues feel valued and supported

Management of colleague employment life cycle

  • Provide guidance and support across all stages of the employee lifecycle (e.g. onboarding, payroll, absence, flexible working, and exits)
  • Input of data onto HR systems and databases, ensuring this is accurate and producing reports as required
  • Produce HR and payroll-related correspondence and manage workflows where required, solving issues and implementing improvements, ensuring the accurate payment of colleagues

HR Case Management

  • Working within agreed SLAs, support line managers in management of standard employee relations cases (absence, routine disciplinary matters, performance improvements, probation, standard grievances, and flexible working), optimising technology and self-service throughout these processes
  • Have demonstrable understanding of UK employment law and external HR best practices
  • Strong experience of case management best practice and technology to streamline workflows and provide the best colleague experience
