Essential experience and skills:
- Significant hands-on experience designing, implementing, configuring or operating Tanium in complex enterprise environments.
- Proven delivery experience across multiple Tanium modules rather than purely theoretical or sales-level knowledge.
- Strong understanding of endpoint management, endpoint security and enterprise IT operations.
- Practical experience with Tanium platform architecture, endpoint communications, Client Management, content distribution, targeting, RBAC, personas and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience in at least several of the following Tanium solution areas:
- Tanium Asset
- Tanium Discover
- Tanium Patch
- Tanium Deploy
- Tanium Comply and Risk
- Tanium Enforce
- Tanium Performance
- Tanium Provision
- Tanium Investigate
- Tanium Connect
- Tanium Reporting
- Experience deploying and validating Tanium Clients across Windows and Linux estates.
- Good understanding of Windows endpoint administration, services, registry, MSI and executable installation behaviour, permissions, file systems, scheduled tasks, certificates and software-detection methods.
- Experience designing or operating enterprise patch-management and software-distribution processes.
- Experience troubleshooting endpoint connectivity, Firewall, Proxy, DNS, certificate and segmented-network issues.
- Strong understanding of cyber-security fundamentals, including vulnerability management, configuration compliance, attack-surface reduction, secure administration and least privilege.
- Experience producing customer-facing designs, implementation plans, operating procedures and technical reports.
The following would be advantageous:
- Tanium Certified Administrator - TCA or other advanced Tanium technical certification.
- Experience with both Tanium Cloud and Tanium on-premises architecture.
- Experience migrating customers from SCCM/Microsoft Configuration Manager, Ivanti DSM, ManageEngine Endpoint Central or comparable tooling.
- Advanced PowerShell Scripting and automation experience.
- Experience using REST APIs and JSON-based configuration or deployment models.
- Experience creating, reviewing or migrating enterprise software packages.
- Knowledge of Windows Installer technology, application detection, dependencies, return codes, reboot handling and rollback.
- Experience designing patch rings, maintenance windows, deployment waves and exception processes for enterprise server and Workstation estates.
- Experience with vulnerability-management and compliance frameworks such as CIS, NIST or DISA STIG.
- Experience integrating Tanium with ServiceNow, ITSM, CMDB, SIEM, identity or reporting platforms.
- Experience working in operational technology, manufacturing, healthcare, public-sector, defence or other highly controlled environments.
- Understanding of virtualisation, VDI, server-build and OS-provisioning processes.
- Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Defender and Azure.
- Experience working with Linux platforms.
- Familiarity with enterprise network segmentation, proxies, Firewalls, load balancing and certificate-based communications.
- German-language capability would be beneficial for some customer engagements but is not mandatory.
- Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical assurance across parallel delivery workstreams.
- Broader consulting experience covering current-state assessment, migration design, roadmap development, stakeholder management and operational handover.
Soft Skills:
- Experience producing customer-facing designs, implementation plans, operating procedures and technical reports.
- Ability to lead technical workshops and explain complex technical subjects to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver to agreed outcomes with limited supervision.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience working in controlled enterprise environments with formal change, testing, evidence and acceptance requirements.
