The Job: Our client is seeking three experienced Design Engineers with either an electrical or mechanical bias to support the design and delivery of specialist fire detection and suppression systems. Working on projects from concept through to completion, you will be responsible for producing high-quality technical designs, drawings and documentation while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and client requirements. You’ll collaborate closely with project, commercial, operational and sales teams, providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidates will work on a range of fire protection solutions including fire detection, suppression, water mist and sprinkler systems, with opportunities to contribute to technically challenging and innovative projects. Experience within data centre environments would be highly advantageous.
The Candidate: You will be an experienced CAD Design Engineer, Building Services Designer or similar engineering professional with a strong background in producing technical designs within construction, building services, fire protection or a related industry. You will be highly proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, capable of creating accurate 2D and 3D designs, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple projects. Whether your expertise is predominantly electrical or mechanical, you will have a strong understanding of engineering design principles and a collaborative approach to problem solving. Candidates with experience designing systems for data centres, mission-critical environments or complex infrastructure projects will be particularly attractive. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential.
Key Requirements:
- Experience as a Design Engineer, CAD Design Engineer, Building Services Designer or similar
- Strong proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Background in electrical or mechanical building services design
- Experience with fire detection and/or fire suppression systems
- Knowledge of water mist and sprinkler systems would be highly beneficial
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings, schematics and design documentation
- Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Data centre project experience highly advantageous
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
