Location: On-site Paignton (full-time on-site, scope for 1 dpw from home)

The Client: Curo are partnering with a global technology organisation providing advanced automated test and assurance solutions to their B2B customers. Their technology accelerates development in the lab and ensures new products and services perform in the real world. Their innovative portfolio addresses the test, assurance and automation challenges across next-generation technologies including 5G, Cloud, GNSS, SD-WAN, Autonomous Vehicles and beyond.

The Role: As a Product Verification and Test Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering team focusing on verification, validation and automation of both current and next-generation Positioning test solutions. This role is hands-on, lab-based and involves manual hardware/system testing alongside the creation and improvement of automation test scripts.

The Candidate: This role would suit a candidate with a hardware or systems testing background. You will have hands-on experience using RF test equipment including spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes and power meters. This is an on-site, lab-based role in Paignton and requires someone able to be on-site the majority of the week. The role suits an intuitive, proactive individual who enjoys understanding how products work. Training and development will be provided for the right person, so you do not need to meet every requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and perform complex test procedures for both current and next-generation Positioning solutions.
  • Generate and update technical documentation.
  • Create and develop test automation scripts.
  • Collaborate with the automation team to analyse, recommend, manage and implement automation improvements.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to problem resolution.
  • Work in a structured and methodical manner.
  • Follow all QEHS and IT Security procedures.
  • Skilled level of MS Office applications.

Education: BA, BEng or HND in an appropriate engineering discipline (electronics, scientific, RF, physics etc.)

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a Product Verification and Test environment.
  • Experience with LabVIEW or Python (Unix & Windows).
  • Experience using RF lab test equipment such as spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes and power meters.
  • Knowledge of BPSK, QPSK, spread spectrum, signal detection, interference analysis, baseband filtering and data formatting.
  • Experience in automation using engineering test equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving, presentation and analytical skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn and energetic in approach.
  • Knowledge of digital communications, RF system analysis, FEC coding and communications engineering.
  • Technical understanding of GNSS and related technologies.
  • MATLAB experience.
