Curley & Haines Group is a renewable energy consultancy that helps UK businesses cut energy costs and make better long-term decisions about how they power their operations. We work with manufacturers, warehouses and high-energy-use sites on commercial solar, asset finance, Capex projects and wider energy procurement strategy. Our job is not to sell solar. It is to help clients make investment-grade energy decisions, combining on-site generation, off-site procurement and structured financial modelling.

We are now hiring a freelance Sales Development Representative to open those £85,000+ OTE, fully remote, with real upside for high performers. You will find the manufacturers, warehouses and high-energy sites with the most to gain, get past the gatekeepers, and book real meetings with the people who can actually make the decision. You are not dialling for the sake of activity. Every qualified meeting you book is the start of a six-figure energy decision.

We are a young, fast-moving team that takes the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. We push each other, we move fast, and we never put a ceiling on what this company can become.

Tasks

  • Prospect target commercial and industrial businesses across the UK.
  • Cold call senior decision-makers and earn the right to a real conversation.
  • Book qualified meetings with the stakeholders who can actually move a deal.
  • Qualify opportunities on energy usage, site suitability, decision-making process and commercial intent.
  • Follow up relentlessly with warm leads, inbound enquiries and target accounts, so nothing viable goes stale.
  • Manage your activity in HubSpot accurately: notes, follow-ups, tasks and deal stages.
  • Work with the internal team to progress opportunities through audit, data collection, proposal and tender stages.
  • Communicate the value of commercial solar, PPAs, asset finance and wider energy strategy clearly and credibly.
  • Build long-term relationships with prospects and clients, not just one-off calls.

Requirements

We are looking for a genuine salesperson, someone who already knows they are good at this and wants a product worth selling.

Essential, what you must bring:

  • At least 5 years of sales experience, including 2+ years of cold calling.
  • A strong phone presence and real objection-handling ability.
  • A proven track record selling to senior business decision-makers.
  • A background in renewables, ideally commercial solar.
  • Strong HubSpot proficiency and excellent CRM hygiene and follow-up discipline.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with confidence discussing ROI, payback, energy costs and long-term business value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • The discipline to work independently on a freelance basis.

Nice to have, these will make you stand out:

  • Experience in energy brokerage or B2B utilities.
  • Experience selling to manufacturers, warehouses or industrial clients.
  • A background in high-tempo sales environments such as car sales or blue-collar recruitment.
  • Experience managing longer B2B sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience selling to Finance Directors, Managing Directors or Operations Directors.
  • Hands-on experience with diallers, lead lists and structured outbound processes.

Benefits

We invest in our people. You will not be expected to perform without the structure, the tools and the support to do it well.

Compensation

  • £2,500 per month basic.
  • 10% commission on sold projects.
  • On-target earnings of £85,000+.
  • Freelance contract, fully remote across the UK.
  • A performance-led commission structure, with commission paid on successfully converted opportunities.
  • Real upside for high performers and no ceiling on what you can earn.

The structure and support behind you

  • A structured, professional onboarding programme.
  • HubSpot CRM, alongside diallers and curated lead lists.
  • Target account lists built around key decision-makers.
  • Tested sales messaging, case studies and collateral.
  • Internal expert support on solar, PPAs, finance and energy strategy.
  • Proposal and tender support from the wider team.
  • Ongoing support from the leadership team.

Where this can go

For the right person, this is not a short-term seat. As Curley & Haines Group scales, this role can grow into a senior commercial position, with the chance to take ownership of key sectors, target accounts, strategic partnerships and the future development of the sales team. If you perform, the opportunity grows with you.

The team you'll be joining

A young, fast-moving consultancy that takes the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. We win as a team, we move fast, and we back each other when the days are hard. Consistency beats talent here, and we never put a ceiling on what this company can become.

Is this you?

This role is for someone who:

  • Genuinely enjoys outbound sales and speaking with people every day.
  • Is confident engaging senior decision-makers and business owners.
  • Knows how to create urgency and momentum in a conversation.
  • Is commercially driven and motivated by commission.
  • Can handle rejection, stay resilient, and keep moving forward.
  • Wants to sell a high-value renewable energy solution they can believe in.
  • Can work independently without needing to be managed.

You may have built these skills in environments like car sales, blue-collar recruitment, telecoms, estate agency, door-to-door sales, B2B telesales or appointment setting. What matters is that you can pick up the phone, hold your own with senior people, and turn conversations into pipeline.

How to apply
