Curiox Biosystems is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team to support the EMEAI region. The candidate must live in either London or Germany.
Responsibilities
- Perform installations, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance services on all Curiox systems.
- Provide support to the FAS and FSE members worldwide by responding to their requests in a timely and efficient manner and provide on-site (US, EMEAI, APAC) support as needed.
- In collaboration with FAS, FSE and Sales staff worldwide, ensure the ticketing system is up to date and accurately reflects customer information in HubSpot.
- Analyze and repair defective instruments returned from the field and produce failure analysis reports.
- Repair, validate and maintain a fleet of stand-by ("loaner") systems to ensure systems are consistently operational and capable of quick deployment.
- Schedule Preventative Maintenance through HubSpot.
- Provide excellent customer support by providing customers with training and technical support for installed instruments.
- Maintain knowledge of all instruments and applications.
- Document and report all repairs, product failures, and other field service paperwork in HubSpot through the ticketing system.
- Manage and update service forms (PMs, IOQs, etc.) to reflect product changes as they occur.
- Serve as point person for worldwide maintenance questions and/or issues.
- Provide feedback with design change in conjunction with R&D, Operations, and production.
- Identify Field Service opportunities/potentials for future business and communicate this to FSE manager, Sales Team and field ops.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working with, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems involving fluidics and electronics.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working with integrated robotic systems, robotic arms/plate handlers, and automation workflow software.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a laboratory/scientific environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with good knowledge of tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Ability to solve challenging problems in a fast-paced work environment.
- Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail, strong work ethic and initiative.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a group, to accomplish individual and team objectives.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, start-up environment, including flexibility with schedule and function.
- Demonstrated organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Technical proficiency in instrumentation and electronics.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees worldwide.
- Expected travel up to approximately 75%, including overnight travel.
- Preferred 2+ years programming and/or operating automated laboratory scientific equipment is highly desirable, particularly scripting assays for Liquid Handlers (Hamilton, Tecan etc.).
- Experience with programming languages and computer knowledge is preferred.
- 2+ years' experience installing liquid handlers and the process of importing/exporting methods to multiple systems.
- Experience in a high client-facing role.
Physical Demands
- Ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders and frequently lift a maximum of 50 lbs. of equipment.
- Ability to perform tasks wearing appropriate PPE, which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite toe shoes.
- Regularly required to crouch or bend and reach to install and move equipment.
