Job Description
The client is seeking an exceptional Project Architect to join a dynamic and forward-thinking London-based studio working on a portfolio of large-scale, high-quality residential developments across the UK. This is a new role for an architect with proven experience in managing and delivering complex residential projects through RIBA Stages 1-5, particularly 3-5. You will play a vital role in the design and technical development of residential buildings that push boundaries and offer exceptional living spaces.
The residential projects you will be working on are diverse in scale and complexity, offering the chance to lead exciting, high-profile developments. You will be working alongside a talented, collaborative team of architects and assistants, overseeing the design, technical execution, and delivery of residential projects that combine high-end design with innovative technical solutions. RESPONSIBILITY OVERVIEW:
- Project Leadership: Take ownership of the day-to-day management of large-scale residential and mixed-use projects, leading the design and technical delivery.
- Design Development: Oversee the development of initial design concepts, producing planning applications, tender packages, and coordinating external detailing.
- Client & Consultant Relations: Maintain and build relationships with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and collaboration throughout the design and construction phases.
- Technical Expertise: Ensure compliance with building regulations, planning policy, technical design standards, and statutory legislation.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with junior architects and assistants, guiding them in the development of design and technical solutions while ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to.
- Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and compliance with best practices and statutory requirements, ensuring that the project vision is achieved.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years post Part III (ARB registered) UK work experience.
- Proven experience managing large-scale residential buildings and mixed-use projects.
- Strong skills in design concept development, planning applications, and delivering detailed packages.
- Exceptional project management skills, including budget management, scheduling, and coordinating with consultants.
- In-depth knowledge of UK planning policy, building regulations, and relevant technical design standards.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- A portfolio demonstrating exceptional design and technical expertise across various residential projects.
- Strong commitment to Continued Professional Development (CPD) in line with the Building Safety Act.
- Excellent organisational, verbal, and written communication skills with fluency in English.
