This is a unique chance to work alongside experienced scientists developing formulations and analytical methods that support early‑stage clinical trials. Nat 5 in Chemistry and English required, along with just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
What You’ll Be DoingAs a Modern Apprentice Technician, you’ll support our Formulation & Analytical Development teams by helping keep our labs running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. You’ll learn how to:
- Assist scientists preparing batches and conducting analytical work
- Perform daily lab checks and equipment calibration
- Maintain lab organisation, stock levels, and documentation
- Support key experimental activities (filling, labelling, buffers, mobile phase prep, etc.)
- Communicate with cross‑site teams including Logistics and Warehouse
- Follow quality and safety procedures aligned with industry standards
This role is hands‑on, varied, and ideal for someone excited by science or problem‑solving.
Training & DevelopmentYou will earn while you learn through a recognised Scottish apprenticeship provider (e.g., Glasgow Clyde College, City of Glasgow College, UWS), gaining a qualification in a science or laboratory subject. You’ll also receive in‑house training on:
- General lab skills
- Analytical and formulation equipment
- COSHH and risk assessments
- Health, Safety & Quality systems
- Inventory management and ordering processes
By the end of the programme, you’ll be skilled, confident, and ready to consider a long‑term career in science or pharmaceuticals.
