We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to take day-to-day regulatory and quality responsibility for a CQC regulated adult social care service.
This is a senior role with a clear focus on safety, safeguarding, compliance and quality. You will have the independence and authority to make decisions about whether care is safe, compliant and appropriate, while working closely with the Operations Manager, Nursing Manager and wider leadership team.
About the role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the service meets its CQC requirements and that people receive safe, high-quality care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- - Holding registration with CQC and acting as the day-to-day contact for the regulator.
- - Making decisions around high-risk care packages, including complex clinical, end-of-life, behavioural, safeguarding and medication-related care.
- - Ensuring staff have the appropriate training, supervision and competence for the care they provide.
- - Building positive relationships with clients, families, staff and external professionals.
- - Working with local authorities, ICBs, safeguarding partners, GPs and community nursing teams.
- - Reporting on quality and safety to senior leadership and contributing to governance meetings.This role requires someone who is comfortable making independent decisions, challenging when necessary and holding others to account, while remaining calm, approachable and professional.
About you
You will need:
- - Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a CQC-regulated adult social care service.
- - A track record of Good or Outstanding CQC outcomes.
- - Experience leading safeguarding and incident investigations, including statutory notifications.
- - A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent.
- - Strong working knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and duty of candour.
- - Excellent judgement and the confidence to make difficult decisions under pressure.
- - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- - A warm, calm and emotionally intelligent approach.
Experience of caring for older people in their own homes, or working alongside a nursing service would be advantageous, as would experience within an Outstanding-rated service.
