Test Engineer in Bristol

Cure Talent are excited to be supporting a rapidly developing biotech startup that is working on breakthrough diagnostic technology. As they continue to scale their engineering capability, we are now recruiting a Test Engineer to join the team at their Bristol labs.

As the new Test Engineer, you will take a key role in designing, building, testing and improving complex instruments that combine mechanical, electronic and software elements. This suits someone who enjoys getting hands on with equipment, solving problems quickly, and creating clear test processes that support smooth product progression. You will work closely with engineers and scientists across the team in a fast paced environment where ideas move quickly from concept into testing.

The Role

• Design, build and run tests on new instrument designs, helping identify issues and guide improvements
• Work across mechanical, electronic and fluidic components to check system behaviour
• Set up test rigs and carry out structured testing to assess performance and reliability
• Capture results clearly and feed back into design and engineering discussions
• Support the creation of straightforward documentation to ensure testing is consistent and traceable

About You

• Background in engineering with hands on experience testing or working with complex systems (Hardware and Software)
• Confident troubleshooting issues across mechanical and electronic components
• Comfortable using CAD tools and working from technical drawings
• Able to plan your own workload and keep testing organised and methodical
• Clear communicator with a practical approach and strong attention to detail
