Cure Talent are delighted to be partnered with an emerging wearable medical technology company at an exciting stage of its growth. Developing next generation wearable medical devices designed to deliver clinically meaningful physiological insights beyond the hospital environment, the business is progressing from research and development into clinical validation and regulated market entry. We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the organization and support the development of innovative wearable medical devices.
Reporting into the engineering team, this role will focus on the design, development and validation of mechanical systems for wearable medical devices. You will work across the full product lifecycle, contributing to the transition of early-stage concepts into robust, manufacturable and regulatory-compliant products. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams across electronics, software and quality, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, clinically relevant wearable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for wearable medical devices from concept through to production
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Support prototyping, testing and iterative design activities across the product lifecycle
- Apply structured medical device development processes, including design control, risk management and verification & validation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to ensure designs meet manufacturing and quality requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical design within MedTech or a regulated product development environment
- Proficiency in CAD preferably SolidWorks, with experience producing detailed engineering drawings
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to wearable devices, including plastics, elastomers and precision assembly
- Understanding of structured product development processes, including exposure to design control and risk management methodologies (e.g. FMEA)
