Cure Talent are delighted to be partnered with an established medical device manufacturer with a long-standing portfolio of endoscopic, imaging and integrated operating room solutions. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Procurement Manager to join their team based in Slough. This is a hands-on, onsite role within a growing, matrix-led organisation, responsible for UK procurement with scope to expand over the next 1-2 years.

You will oversee spend of around £20m-£30m, bringing structure, consistency and commercial rigour to a function that is being centralised and strengthened. The role reports into the Head of Finance Europe and has no direct reports initially.

The Procurement Manager will take ownership of the full procurement cycle for UK indirect spend, ensuring goods and services are sourced competitively, contracts are managed effectively and suppliers meet required standards. Working closely with Finance, Supply Chain and senior stakeholders, the role will bring greater control, visibility and governance to procurement activity across the business.

Initially, the focus will be on stabilising and tidying up UK procurement, centralising purchasing processes, supporting spend analysis and improving supplier performance. Over time, the role is expected to grow as the business continues to mature, with opportunities to introduce improved workflows, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

The right person will be a confident procurement professional with around three years' experience, ideally ready to step up into a management role. They will combine strong negotiation and analytical skills with a calm, practical approach, and be comfortable working autonomously in a regulated, matrix environment. Healthcare or medical device exposure would be an advantage.

Role Responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day UK procurement activity, managing the end-to-end process from requisition through to purchase order, receipt and invoice support.
  • Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure best value, quality and service across indirect goods and services.
  • Centralise procurement activity, including contracts, quotations, renewals and supplier negotiations, to improve governance and consistency.
  • Analyse spend, monitor supplier performance and prepare reporting to support finance, leadership and procurement decision-making.
  • Drive improvements in workflows, compliance, cost-effectiveness and supplier performance, including the use of e-procurement tools where appropriate.
Key requirements / What we look for
  • Proven procurement experience in a similar role.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement or related field.
  • CIPS preferred; project management exposure desirable.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and sourcing skills.
  • SAP purchasing and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience in Medical Devices or other highly regulated industries.
