Cure Talent is delighted to partner a leading UK manufacturer who specialise in the design and production of high-quality packaging machinery solutions for the medical device industry. We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join this company’s engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and will play a crucial role in designing and developing packaging machinery, automation equipment, jigs and fixtures to meet both company and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver mechanical design expertise across the full project lifecycle, from concept, design, and build through to testing and commissioning.
- Design components, mechanisms, and assemblies in SolidWorks, producing detailed drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials.
- Support procurement and subcontract manufacture, selecting suitable materials, components, and manufacturing methods.
- Produce and maintain mechanical and technical documentation, including Technical Files, Operator Instructions, and Maintenance Instructions.
- Ensure projects meet performance, quality, regulatory, Health and Safety, and continuous improvement requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in designing packaging or automation equipment.
- Degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working with medical packaging and/or medical devices.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software).
- Understanding of engineering and workshop machinery.
