Cure Talent are delighted to be partnered with an emerging wearable medical technology company at a defining stage of its growth. Developing next-generation physiological monitoring solutions, the business is transitioning from advanced product development towards regulatory approval and commercial launch.

We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across the company's software function, working closely with the Head of Engineering and multidisciplinary teams spanning Software, Signal Processing and Firmware. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, combining software architecture and technical decision-making with day-to-day engineering, development and problem-solving.

  • Provide technical leadership across software development, architecture and engineering best practice
  • Own and evolve the software architecture across the medical device platform
  • Lead technical decision-making across Software, Signal Processing and Firmware interfaces
  • Ensure software development aligns with IEC 62304 and wider medical device requirements
  • Support regulatory submissions and the progression of products towards commercial release
  • Provide technical guidance to internal engineers, contractors and external development partners
  • Remain hands-on with software development, code reviews, testing, documentation and troubleshooting

Extensive software engineering experience within regulated medical devices is required, along with strong knowledge of IEC 62304 and the medical device software development lifecycle. Candidates should have strong software architecture and systems-level engineering experience, as well as a broad technical understanding across software, embedded/firmware and signal processing or algorithm development. Experience supporting medical devices through regulatory approval and commercial release is also essential.
