Curated is partnered with a fast-growing InsurTech building an internal AI platform from the ground up.
You'll be building AI systems that are already in production and used daily by the people making high-stakes decisions. This isn't experimental. It's core to how the business runs.
This is a team that goes into the business, finds the problem, and ships the solution. No project charters. No ticket queues. Just smart people, hard problems, and the freedom to move fast.
They need a Forward Deployed Engineer who's built in startup or scale-up environments, cares as much about the product as the code, and wants to be close to the business rather than hidden behind a backlog.
You'll be customer facing, embedded directly with stakeholders, turning ambiguous problems into working software.
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years backend engineering experience, ideally from a startup or scale-up environment
- Strong in TypeScript and/or Python. C# is a bonus, not a blocker
- Hands-on with AWS, REST APIs, and PostgreSQL
- Experience building with LLMs: tool calling, RAG, embeddings, agentic workflows
- The kind of person who talks to users, understands the problem deeply, and ships with ownership
- High agency. Low ego. Obsessed with building things that actually work
Why it's interesting:
- Startup pace inside a well-capitalised global enterprise
- Early London hire into a new team. Real influence, real impact
- Direct access to the business from day one
- Genuinely hard technical problems at the intersection of AI and insurance data
