About the Role

Join our high‑performing Finance hub in Sunderland as a Finance Officer – a brand‑new role created to support our growth journey and maintain the exceptional standards we’re proud of. This role is an excellent opportunity for an Excel wizard looking to build hands‑on experience across core financial processes in a fast‑paced, highly regulated global business.

Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and manage queries via our shared inbox to keep daily operations smooth and error‑free.
  • Support customer account reconciliations, assist with debt collection, and run regular bank reconciliations to ensure total financial accuracy.
  • Contribute to month‑end close activities, prepare key supporting schedules, and help build the management accounts that guide our business decisions.
  • Provide flexible support across the team, gaining exposure to full accounting processes and improvement projects that change how we work.

Must‑Have Skills & Experience

  • Strong IT skills, including accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Hands‑on exposure to management accounts preparation.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and consistent high accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, priority setting, and deadline‑driven execution.
  • Clear, confident communication skills.
  • Strong team player who takes ownership of their work.
  • AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) – or currently studying towards it.

Bonus Points (Not Essential)

  • Experience with Sage 200 or Microsoft Business Central.
  • Background in regulated industries – pharma, manufacturing or similar global environments.
