Responsibilities:
- See to all washing, drying and ironing of linens and residents’ personal clothing, carrying out repairs when needed; keep records and report of any damaged items.
- Sort and store dirty laundry into appropriate wash loads; deliver, hang and store linens and residents’ clothes to their rooms, ensuring correct return of personal clothing.
- Maintain linen stocks and collaborate with the Care Team to ensure clean linen is ready for use and soiled linen is handled efficiently in line with infection control policy.
- Routine cleaning and maintenance of laundry equipment, safely store and secure chemicals and cleaning products during and after use.
- Vacuum rooms and corridors, empty all waste bins and dispose of waste bags as prescribed.
- Clean glass, mirrors, furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
- Dust cobwebs and mop floor surfaces.
- Clean bathrooms and toilets with particular attention to guidelines for germ control and infestation.
- Ensure rooms are odor‑free.
- Report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that require maintenance, and also cleaning materials that need replacing.
- Adhere to and maintain Company Policy on Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) at all times.
- Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
